And theeeeen.......

Well that plan lasted about 7 minutes (hey, 4 more minutes than usual!). After that she became my little helper and that worked pretty well.

I'll post before a s after pics of my project if & when it gets completed.

Until then, it's off to the showers to peel away some paint layers.

Artsy Girl

The only way that I can get crafting of any kind done is if Juliet is asleep or I find something for her to do that will hold her attention for longer than 3 minutes.

I wanted to start a rather large project that involved painting and thought if Juliet got to paint too it might distract her for a bit while I did mine.

It worked......for a bit......

More projects

Today I decided my quilt needed a bag. I had some coordinating thrift store pillow shams, so I cut them up and made a bag big enough for the quilt and and extra items.

Best part-tonight we were invited to a picnic Birthday BBQ, perfect timing to use the quilt. YAY!

Done

Finally got the quilt washed and dried. Now its super soft and the fraying looks great! It took a lot of time and LOTS of broken needles but it turned out better then I could have imagined as am very happy with it. Now it just needs to cool off so I can use it!

Mish-Mash

This morning Juliet HAD to put her Tinkerbell/Primcess dress on all by herself. Then she found her little pink baseball cap and HAD to wear that while we played Play-Doh.

My cutie-pie.

Decisions, decisions

Rag Time Quilt

Here is my project of the month. I say that because I think it took me a month or longer to complete. It still needs a few good washings to fray out the rag pieces but aside from that it's complete!

This was made from old jeans, thrift store clothes and donated (thank you Mom :) fabric. The smooth side of the quilt is a little off here and there, but considering its my first quilt, I'm ok that it's a little wonky.

Its meant to be a utility quilt, probably stored in the back of my car to be pulled out for picnics or a trip to the park. I also have some blue & white checkered pillow shams that I'm going to convert into a carry bag for it. I'll post pics of that when I get it completed.

Tinkerbell

Juliet was in her room spending a few minutes in time-out. When I went to get her, she emerged in her Tinkerbell dress and has refused to take it off since.

Dance my little Timkerbell, dance!

Morning Craft Hour

I cut coupons, Juliet cuts and crafts with paper :)

Froggy!

While spending some time with the goats this evening Juliet and I came across a little frog. It took a lot of chasing on my part but I finally caught it. It was a nice little farm frog and stood still long enough for Juliet to get a good look and work up enough nerve to touch it.

Then it jumped away and we wandered off to the other side of the field to feed the chickens.

It was a nice Sunday evening.

Fun Project

Tonight I wanted to work on a project I had been thinking about for some time. I really wanted to use some retro print oil-cloth fabric but it's kind of hard to come by here in Arkansas.

I didn't want to wait any longer so I pulled out a old vinyl tablecloth that was kind of dirty. Cool print, perfect colors-BINGO!

Got Juliet down to sleep, dug out my screwdriver, scissors and hot glue gun and was ready to roll.

After 2 1/2 hours, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I hope when Juliet wakes up, she likes it too. I'll snap some pics of us having a tea party tomorrow :)

Total Cost:
Small table and chairs from Garage Sale - $7.00
Old Target table cloth from clearance isle - $3.00
Final Total: $10.00 and a table I wish I could drink my tea at.

Time to clean

A friend of mine asked if it would be ok to borrow Juliet for the day so I could have a little alone time. It was a welcome break and I took full advantage and did something that I rarely get to do.....CLEAN!

I won't show you pictures of how untidy it was before but I am very happy with how it looks now.

I took a close up shot of the books because before it was a big empty spot. I recently got 3 large boxes of books from a yard sale for 1.00. I positioned them all in there and think it just looks really neat.

So that was my project for today, cleaning and book stacking. Yay!
