Strawberry Fields

The strawberry beds are completed! YAY. We have three varieties so one for each. We'll also be planting the berry bushes in beds like this as well. All will get planted hopefully tomorrow.....

At least she's eating.....

After having enough of gardening, Juliet decided it was time for lunch. I stepped away for a moment and came back to find her eating like this. "I'm a kitty mommy". "hmmm, um, ok". At least she's actually eating a meal. But does this remind anyone else of the little brother from A Christmas Story? "Who's Mommy's little piggy"? LOLOLOL.

I love my new garden area. It's a great place to prep the plants as keep an eye on Juliet :)

Making her mark

Juliet was getting bored so I let her maker her mark on her small garden table. She liked that, lol.

Potting 101

Today Juliet and I are working on potting the new plants that just arrived for the garden/orchard.

Today:
Lemon Tree, lime tree, tangerine tree, orange tree along with two dwarf pomegranate trees.

Crush

I found this little guy on the road this morning. Juliet has named him Crush in honor of the turtle in Finding Nemo.

I will be releasing him back into the wild tonight after the dogs are in for the night.

Exciting Day

It's been an exciting day. I was finally able to pry her away from the chicks long enough for us to eat some lunch and get her down for a nap.

Food & Water

The chicks are feeling good, drinking water and eating food. Juliet is fascinated.

Getting settled in

And on that farm we had some chicks....

Our chicks arrived this morning healthy and chirping. Juliet can't get enough of them, they're just so darn cute!

We brought them into the house first so we could call Allen via video chat and he could see them too.

For those interested in what we got, we received 5/each of the following:

*Buff Orpington-egg producers
*Road Island Red - meat and egg bird
*A meat bird (don't recall the name, produced solely for their meat)

Back to the feeders

After hosing ourselves off and cleaning up we came in to cool down and have some lunch. After I got Juliet settled I filled up the feeders and got them hung. Now we wait.........

Into the wild

Juliet decided she wanted to let the grasshopper go (so she could go find her babies......awwww). The little gal stood frozen in the dirt till she regained her wits and realized she would permanently become part of that dirt if she didn't act fast. A few high hops later she was safely back in the grass.

Dirty Trick

To get Juliet to release her death grip on the cat, I pulled out the big guns.....full on dirt playing. Worked like a charm. Soon way may have to move on to mud pies.
