Just Dance...

I'm not entirely sure this was a dance move, but this morning she kept doing this pose.

As we were walking, she found his stick and was SOOOO excited!

Morning walk

Here's Juliet and I on our morning walk when all of a sudden she hears an airplane and is looking for it in the sky.

Here's how high the water got on our back patio. It was quite the nasty mess to clean up yesterday.

Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene came in and we rode it out. The yards, patio & garage all flooded even filling up our floor vents to the brim. We were centimeters, and moments away from the house being engulfed by water when 1. The tide finally started going out 2. The rain finally let up 3. We used a hose pump hooked to a drill and started pumping what little water we could out the window. All things combined literally stopped the water at the brim of flooding in and it finally started to recede.

We also had power throughout the hurricane which was amazing. Many people we know are still without power and many of our neighbors houses did flood.

The term "by the skin of our teeth" definitely applies to us. Thanks to everyone who was sending good thoughts our way.

Shopping Before The Storm

We were let out of work early to finish prepping for the hurricane. I remembered that my favorite kids used store was having a bag sale. I scooted over and power shopped till I had two full bags of clothes and shoes.

After ringing it all up, it totaled over 600.00 and I only had to pay 10.00 per bag. To make it even better I remembered I had a credit there so I got all this for NOTHING! Yay for us! Thats a fun shopping trip. The best part is that I bought clothes and shoes that Juliet can grow into.

Birthday Dress

This dress was bought for Juliet when only a few months old. At the time I couldn't even fathom her being big enough to fit into it. Today, it fits perfectly and I love her choice of rainboots (which she put on herself).
